ART

We lost our connection
But hope still guides our way
A little spark of light

PURPOSE OF THIS COLLECTIONThe purpose of this collection is to take something dystopian and transform it into something positive. Through this process, I tried to demonstrate that there is beauty in all things, even alienation. By turning these concepts into art, I hope to give them a voice and communicate their beauty to the world.SOCIALIZATIONThe lack of physical contact in virtual reality makes it difficult for individuals to connect and form meaningful social relationships. Individual identities are just another anonymous avatar in the crowd.KAROSHIKaroshi is a Japanese term that literally means “death from overwork”. The causes of karoshi are complex, but the issue is largely attributed to Japan's culture of long work hours and a lack of work-life balance.LOST IN THE CROWDGetting lost in a sea of unfamiliar faces can be an incredibly isolating experience. Despite being surrounded by strangers, it can be difficult to make a genuine connection as there is no sense of familiarity.CAPSULE HOTELCapsule hotels are renowned for their isolation; typically, they lack communal areas or shared spaces. Though the capsules themselves provide some degree of privacy, they offer little in terms of social interaction or entertainment.DININGAutomated dining removes the human touch from the restaurant experience, creating a lonely and impersonal atmosphere. While it may provide a faster and more efficient ordering process, the lack of human interaction takes away the unique and personalized aspect of dining out.RELATIONSHIPSOnline relationships lack the human touch that's key to meaningful connections. Without physical contact, it's hard to form a bond or grasp someone's feelings.INTERNET CAFELiving in internet cafes in Japan is becoming a phenomenon as people seek refuge from high rent and loneliness. It is estimated that 10,000 people live in internet cafes.
